The big show Lonnie Harkins and I geared up for has now come down. There are still several paintings from the show on display at CalvART Gallery. This was a labor of love for me, including paintings that  represented many of my overseas adventures.  I will be posting them in a new set of photos.  The title of the show was "all over the Map."  More than any other body of work, this one represented my spirit.

A couple stopped by CalvART Gallery last night and the husband decided to buy a painting his wife had admired as a surprise gift.  Nice guy, huh?  So, here's another of my little paintings going to a good home.

Sold a couple of paintings recently.  One at the Artsfest at Annmearie Garden and one at the Sotterly Riverfest.  It's been a busy few weeks, so it's time for a bit of a rest.

Here's the one that sold at Sotterly, a little oil entitled "South Carolina Cove"  The other one that sold (at Artsfest) was a sepia of Cove Point - I hadn't had time to take a photo...

We returned from our trip to the west and I have started teaching drawing now at the College of Southern Maryland in Prince Frederick. Scheduled for later this summer is the acrylics painting class that will take place at the Leonardtown Campus. I'm loving the teaching, and also looking forward to painting some of the wonderful sights from Washington state and Alaska.

It's been a very good month!

I've sold 4 paintings this month - one at the Furniture Gallery in Prince Frederick, and three at Annmarie Garden!

In addition, we all enjoyed the fully subscribed Art Night at Calvart Gallery, during which beginners to more experienced painters practiced with some acrylics and left with either a complete or nearly complete painting.

CALVART Gallery now has our Favorite Things display, along with a lovely show for Black History Month. The galery has been re-stocked with lots of new and lovely things. I have particularly enjoyed my time there with the other artists and our visitors.

More to come in this blog about our art nights.

I am told I have been juried into the CALVART Gallelry in Prince Frederick, so some of my oils will be going there. I have several new ones underway that I need to photograph and put up on the site as soon as I've completed them during the next week or so. I am excited about the expanding exposure!

Well, folks, for a number of reasons, I am giving up my Leonardtown Arts Center Studio.  It was a difficult decision, but it has become clear that my priorities need adjustment.  The most difficult thing is giving up the interaction with the other artists.  But then, most of those with whom I collaborated have left, too.  I wish the Center well.  But it's time for me to move on.

This means I will be looking to paint with friends at various locations, a...
